Well, 12/08 is cracking up to be quite the day in my life...

10 years ago today, I entered on duty with the USDOJ into a job that I surely will make a career, and one that I love as well;

2 years ago today, a friend and co-worker of mine passed away after being diagnosed with skin cancer less than 9 months before. He was barely 12 years my senior. Rest in peace, Jay.

Today, I received an e-mail from Amy-0 that my FBM order is on the way. In addition, I finally received my SHBM that I have been waiting for. Awesome.

Also today, I spent 2 hours listening to the unbelieveably inspirational story of Jason Schechterle, as told by the man himself. If you don't know who he is, an Internet search will tell you more than you could believe.

And then on my way back from Phoenix this afternoon, my wife informed me that she received notice that my father passed away this morning. It was expected soon given many years of declining health and numerous recent trips to the hospital, but still not a pleasant experience. Rest in peace, Dad. You're in a better place.

So, take time out to appreciate your life. Swing your Busse around, kiss your wife/kids, and realize that even if you think you've got it bad, chances are that somebody you know personally has it a lot worse than you. Go out of your way to help someone who never even thought to ask for help, or smile at someone who is having a bad day. Things come and go all the time and you never know what may happen next. Remember, "No Regrets!"

Sorry to hear about your father. Even when it's expected it can't be easy.

Our prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear about you father OTE...

My thoughts and prayers are with you

OTE - Sorry to hear of the tragedy; it is a rough time of year to be reminded of these things.

Live well & love well, my brother.

Thanks for all the well wishes folks. Whoever said the greatest thing about Busse is the steel, design, customer service, or warranty overlooked a biggie--namely you folks, the people who buy Busses and make this forum a true home away from home. I am lucky in more ways than one that I found Busse and this forum.:)

Sorry to hear about your father. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and
your family.

So sorry to hear about your dad. A loss that never goes away. Brother, you'll be in our prayers.

God bless

You have my condolences and prayers for your lose, and my congratulations on your INFI.

I thought had the week from he11, but as you stated, " that even if you think you've got it bad, chances are that somebody you know personally has it a lot worse than you"

I looked up Jason on the web, inspiring story, my younger brother spent 6 mo in the Maricopa County burn unit in the early 80's (industrial accident), nowhere near as bad as Jason's story. But still a horrible accident. They really work miracles there.

My family's still in the valley, I 'm a former Zonie !

Thanks for the reality check

My condolences, OTE. Prayers sent for you and your family.

I haven't checked out too much about Jason on the Web. The most amazing thing to me is this--

Here is a guy who is and wants to be an inspiration to others. Because of what he has faced, how he has dealt with it personally, and what he wants to do for others, people have called him a hero for more times than I could count. It would be easy to let that get to your head, but not him. I got a genuine sense that he is a really humble guy. You can ask him anything and he'll roll with it. Given all that's happened to him, his honesty, humility, and great sense of humor make for a speaker and role model. He had the audience in awe at one moment, in stitches the next. If anyone ever has the chance to hear him speak, it is definitely worth it!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your father OTE. My thoughts will be with you and your family. I raise my glass in his honor.

Sorry to hear about your dad man. I lost mine to congestive heart failure 7 years ago. He was 52 and never saw his grandchildren. You definitely have to do all you can in this short life.
