BK 14 Murder Weapon on NCIS tonight.

Meanwhile, BK14 sales go up 80%.

and/or..........The 14 has surpassed its utilitarian purpose and is now a weapon that scares every anti knife legislator and clueless brain-dead soccer mom. Thanks NCIS.

This is one viable reason I do not watch cops, lawyers or doctors on TV anymore.

Like it. There must be more than a couple folks that write for that show that know a bit about knives.

At least a prototype bk21 wasn't issued to the show before I get one. Come to think of it that wouldn't be intelligent, the Kukri would have scared the s@&t out of the anti knife nuts.

I wonder whether CBS is required to clear this with or at least inform Ethan or KA-BAR first.

not sure why they would have to

now, they might have asked for a free one for "exposure" and advertising...

or maybe they are just looking for new knives that nobody has seen yet :D

maybe someone will do a video grab of it and put it on youtube

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Looks a little crude. They should've checked here first....I mean, WTF were they thinking?

This implies that they were thinking. This is Hollywood were talking about here. LA (city and county) has a max 3" limit on fixed blades, open carry only. At 3.25" the 11, 14 and 24 are illegal to publicly carry in LA, but that wouldn't stop people in the film industry. They'd would just figure "What's a 0.25?" and go with it. We see people all the time that like to push the limits or decide that limits don't apply to them.

So a possible scenario is that some industry worker, a grip, effects, hell, etc had it on him/her an one of the writers visiting a set saw it, asked "What's that?" and we have a line in the script. The inexpensive price (relatively) of a 14 would be a propmaster's dream. Easily acquired, not a budget buster AND it has the mystique of "KABAR" wafting around it.

NCIS: Los Angeles is choreographed by the Sayoc Kali guys and one of the producers (or directors) David Kalstien is a certified instructor under them...they got a thing for knives!
