BK 15, 16, 17 Passaround ?

Muchas Gracias senor Brab.:D Who am I kidding, six years of Espanol and i can't put together a complete sentence. Either way I really appreciate this opportunity. I promise to treat her like a queen, a big ol' buff Ru Paulish queen;)

You should get the Bushlore with the green micarta. It looks so sweet compared to the standard one and even to the black glossy micarta one. I think I'll compare it to my brand new esee 4 or new Gerber big rock camp knife if nothing else. Here;s the grren and the black micarta. I don't like that the black kinda looks glossy or at least satin whereas the green looks nice and canvassy
Here's a couple of green awesomeness and one of the original and black micarta together

I am honored to be included. Thank you man. For this, I think I'll even cave and buy the blades that I have been thinking of comparing with it (Condor Bushlore and KaBar MK1) so then I can do a proper comparison review fit for a pre-release passaround.

As a poor married grad student I'm kind of crazy broke as it is. The only reason I'm getting these is because I'll be using them as gifts to my father and my friend (both get their first outdoors knife). So if you would like to put up the extra $$ to get the micarta version I'll gladly purchase that one instead.

If not, I prefer to eat noodles for only so long :p.

as soon as they're available Im gonna have a ''Tweener Passaround''...I'm gonna pass it round from my left hand to my right hand!

I'm still thinking about it. There might have to be a disclaimer that says "I"m gonna come kick your ass and kill your dog if my knife gets messed up in anyway" that goes with it.

Its a tough call, I been waiting for this knife since I saw the drawings last year, but I do want ya'll to get a chance to experience this phenomenal blade. If I had a spare, I would send it out in a heartbeat, but alas, all I have is a single. I do have a bag of proto type steriles that Ethan loaned me for some photo's though......
Talk about ass kicking and dog killing, Ethan's already threatened willis when he was about to start carving with one.

Let me think on it some more.

Moose

This may not be a popular opinion Moose, but I'm gonna say don't do a passaround with your BK16.

I don't *think* anyone here would 'go dark' and make off with your knife, but you never know and they aren't making any more of those things (prototypes) to the best of my knowledge. Not only that, but there's always a risk in mailing the knife several times, whether it's UPS, FedEx, or USPS (shudders at the thought).

More than that really, this isn't even the final production version. We already know there is a significant change in the grind of the final production model, so it's not going to be a 'sneak peak' of what we have access to. I say if anyone wants to see it that bad then come to the gathering.

Obviously it's your knife and you are free to with it what you like. However, you do a lot for us Beckerheads already and I can tell how much you love that knife. I'd hate to see something happen just so others can get their jollies. I don't feel like you owe this to us one bit.

in THEORY KaBar should be able to get us something early, if we pester them enough, for this very purpose.

ohhhhh KaBar! you hoo!!!

I can agree with this. As cool as it would be to have more reviews about it done, the version people would get to play with would NOT be the one that they could buy later. And that would likely make people jealous/super vocal about why kabar decided not to go with the saber ground version for full production.

And also, you do tons for us anyway :).

This man speaks the truth.

I was planning to sign up, get your knife, and then flee to Mexico and live in the wilderness with a tomahawk and your BK-16. :D

Keep your knife, but take more pictures for us.

I totally understand. I'm a out of work single dad so I too know the taste of noodles very well. Currently I trade if I want a new custom and I've only been buying the very wallet friendly knives like Mora(just got the sweet on with the 6" blade) and a Gerber Big rock. Next will be a Condor Bushcraft 5" and/or a Cold steel Roach belly;) Quality blade for great prices. You gotta admit though, that green micarta is bad @$$;)

Personally, I'd rather test the production version than Moose's prototype.
The prototype is not available for purchase, so everyone will have to buy the "final edition" anyways...
