BK 15 Processing Bear

Nice looking bear...I had a run in with a pissed off winnie the pooh a couple of years ago...amazing how fast you can run when you dirt in your pants! Anyways, nice to see the 15 getting some use...after seeing the pics I am going to have to break down and order one...wife is going to be pissed again!

Hey Col D......

How well did the 15 do?...

Ethan
Ethan - the 50 did real well - the bear really never went anywhere. Maybe 5 yards. I have a video of the whole thing and would like to put it here (video is worth a thousand words) but I can't figure out how to do it. Any of you computer guys able to help me with that? It's on my desktop and also in my pictures file.

Hah. Shooting a bear with .50 Beowulf... Doesn't get much more 'murican than that!

Congrats, that meat looks tasty as hell and I'm sure the 15 did one hell of a good job! Thanks for the pics!

That's cool and educational: I'd always heard that bear meat was laden with fat and this looks pretty lean from the pictures shown.

Wow, now that's impressive! I don't see that everyday here down under, that's for sure! Thanks for sharing!

I can imagine the bear's reaction to seeing you with the .50 and the 15....

"Well....shit"

Great times. Thanks for sharing Col. How'd the 15 do for slicing and skinning? Looks great.

I love your childlike sense of naivety. You actually think that the jerky would even make it to a Gathering.:D

What he is referring to is a bag of bear jerky I brought to the gathering this spring. The problem is that the jerky was from a bear I killed in 2009 and it sort of got lost in the freezer. When I found it my first thought was take it to the gathering those guys will eat anything............
