does anyone have a becker bk 16. how would it compare to the esee 4 also does it come with a pair of brown scales?
thanks

Not being rude (honestly I'm not)...But did you even look at the board? There is BK16 stuff everywhere. Yes it comes with both brown scales and black. We are all biased towards Becker, but the BK16 is a lot more bang for the buck. Handles are more ergo. You are paying for the micarta on the 4.

Gentlemen, courtesy is cheap, and it don't take up much space.

When we get new members here, and they ask a question, they are looking to interact and chat with folks. Tanner's post was spot on, the rest of you are just trolling, being obnoxious for no other reason, other than you can.

The group mentality, for those that are here, are to ridicule and spurn new folks away from the forum now?

Try being helpful, perhaps offer some assistance in finding threads on the topic, if its already been discussed.

I'm not very happy right now.

I don't think anyone intended to be mean Batboy....we've all been rather goofy the last week or so.

I would suggest clicking through the first few pages of threads. LOTS of info here, and many reviews on the BK16. Check out the stickies up top too.

No one meant to chase you away Battboy. After Tanners post I assumed you would go find the info you needed and come back and joke around with us here. Hopefully we didn't give you a bad impression of us.

Thank you, gentlemen, it is most appreciated.

The BK16 is an excellent choice.

Unless u like a clip-point...then the BK17 is an excellent choice.

Unless you like the BK5 but want a smaller knife...then the BK15 is an excellent choice.

I do believe there are pics of a BK16 and a ESEE-4 side-by-side floating around here somewhere. Pretty close in size, although the BK16 has a longer handle.

They do indeed come with ''peanut-butter'' grips as well as black ones.

I started that thread because I had just received my B16 from Moose and wanted to show the Esee 4 and the BK16 side by side without a bunch of other Esees and Beckers in the picture. And Bladeite slapped my hand for doing so because other people had already posted some pictures of the Esee 4 and BK 16 (lost in a sea of other Esees and Beckers) and also commented on them. Newer members like me, who are excited about a new knife that we bought from another forum member, are apparently not allowed to do that.
