BK 17 thoughts...

I think he's referring to the blade shape, not the grinds; specifically the top front portion of the blade on both models. The scoop of the clip on the 17 can be considered concave (curving, or hollowed, inward), and the "bow" formed by the late drop on the 16 would be convex (curving, or extending, outward). Making either aspect less extreme - as shown in posts 35 and 38 - is a modification that seems to be appreciated.

Ohhhhhh, now I get it. So it's the TIP grind, not the actual blade grind? (From spine to edge) I thought he meant the actual grind was concave vs. convex. And they're not.
As much as I like clip points, I'm really digging that flat point 17 mod...

You must have started that as I submitted my correction, since it wasn't there when the revision was posted. I don't agree that "it's the TIP grind" (as to me that means something different); but I probably shouldn't have tried to clarify for daizee in the first place.
If you think you've got it, I've got no reason to argue ;)

I hope to get some more time with my 17 this weekend. I chose that as my only Becker for my upcoming camping trip.

precisely what I meant.
The spine profile out near the tip defines the profile as 'clip point' or 'drop point'. I prefer straight-clip or slightly dropped. Though I just handled my 16 last night, and now I'm not sure it needs a mod. It's a nice robust non-threatening bushcraft profile.
