BK-2 is in - Updated 12/18 with pics!!

very nice pics cmdr249... that BK2 got a nice work out...

looks like a fun day out in the woods..

Thanks everyone!

I'm really happy with this one. I want to work it a bit more when I get a chance.

She is fun. Great pics and review Bro. +1 on the cool pics with your boy. I was real pleased with the ease the BK2 had with the trap. It notched very well. I put a convex edge on mine now and she is pretty scary. I did just the edge and left the coating. What's left anyway.

Sorry for the crappy pics. You can get the idea though.

Damn, now I gotta buy one.

Nice review, cmdr249.

Hey Doc....You were so good for a while there. Now you are off the wagon. Its all the fault of that manix of yours. Once you open the tap, you are sure to develop a leak....Welcome to the consumer market again!

cody1 - that looks great and thanks for the compliments.

I was leaning towards the BK-2 as it was and when you posted your review link it put me over the edge.

I think it's a great blade for under $70 for what it is capable of.

I am really excited to compare this one the the RAT Cutlery RC-5 SERE when it comes out. I've anticipated getting one of the RC-5s since they announced the design and development.

Not quite - it's Christmas and I have to buy a present for me, and Bryan is taking care of that. If I get a Campanion, it's going to have to wait. Finances are an endangered species at the moment. :(

As far as the Manix is concerned, it was "buy then, or never again".

Cmdr249 Thanks for those comparison shots. I tried a becker handle before on one of the Camillus knives. I found it comfortable but only in one position, a bit bulky otherwise.

I prefer less of a drop to the point or even none at all.

Cmdr - I didn't see your updated pics from this morning. Those are some great shots and the comparison pics really give perspective. The RC-6 is about just right for my hands. I tried paracord wrapping the handle just for kicks and that is really too thick for me. I have a feeling that the becker grips coupled with .25" might be a bit on thick side for comfort for me. However, the BK9 with the 3/16" thick blade and those same grips just might work!

I think Spooky should pay particular attention to this review as he is always nagging about having long fingers and stuff :) He must be one hell of a pipe smok'n piano player! Again great pictures. Thanks for the shots. I have new knife envy!

If you only knew how hard it was for a guy in my state!

But I really am taking notes on the BK2, I'd like to check one of these buggers out. Normally I'm not into such thick blades on a belt knife, but my kabar bowie has is 1/4" and the wideness gives it time to come to a decent angle.

Hey Fonly! I don't mind seeing this come back up. :D

Not sure - it could just be a change in the production run on them, so the numbers didn't end up covered. Not really sure though but that is what I'd put my money on that.

The minty, new BK-2 for my passaround/give-away is like my blade.

mmm, its interesting. I just hope the production now is the style that yours is, I dont like it back that far. :(
