BK-4 Project (Pic Heavy)

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The exact name of the stripper is Klean-Strip Premium Stripper.

I've had an epiphany in my sheath choice. Instead of a Buck110 or a multi-tool, I'm thinking of throwing a BK11 on the front instead. I think it would keep it lighter, and also allow me to patina the smaller knife just like its big brother. Or maybe a BK14? Thoughts?

Also, I've finished the other side of the knife. So now it's onto choosing scales. If I go with the BK11, do the brown micarta scales match the larger ones for the BK4?

No. Not exactly. The full size scales are a tanish color while like you said the 11 scales are brown.

Yup...well...pretty close...
This is when they were brand new.
Now that they've had some use, they're pretty similar. Both kinda brownish.

Welcome to the sickness!

If you want a great sheath, and since I can't make it, I would go with goose_52 (sagewood leather) he's a stands up guy and does some very nice work.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words.

hey all,

thought i'd share some progress that's been made. I've decided to go with a BK-11 as the smaller knife in the combo. I finally got around to ordering one, and tonight i put work in.

she's here!

next up will be some 600 then 3000 grit treatment, then of course the horseradish patina to match its big brother. the micarta scales for both knives have been ordered as well.

all that's left after that is the sheath! I've chosen the guy to make it for me, and i have no doubt that i'll be pleased! pics to come as progress continues.
