Bk&T bk71 operation Iraqi freedom

My thoughts exactly. It's still a 71 but yeah I was thinking the same thing. Special thanks@ the warrior for helping out.

No problem man. I really don't know for sure. Hoping others will chime in.

the desert coating is seemingly just a light paint - comes right off if worn too hard

i would be surprised if more than 1000 original unmarked knives exist, let alone 1000 etched ones lol

easy peasy to find someone with a laser engraver these days

we'd have to check with a Camillus person or two, but i would say offhand while the knife is legit, the engraving was done later

which is really common with a lot of knives being labeled "prototype"/etc

The invasion of Iraq took place on March 20th 2003. The blade is dated March 9th 2003. It does have F16 fighters on it.... So I'm thinking that it was engraved by a group of Air force airmen as a gift to one of there comrades/superiors which happens quite often. They would have been on the ground And flying sortes from Saudi Arabia along the no fly zone long before the invasion started. Just my opinion FWIW

I know this is going to drive you a wee bit insane trying to find one now lol
That’s funny! Lol

No, I wouldn’t go after a piece like this. It wasn’t meant for me. It deserves to find a good home with someone that served.

Who doesn't want an S30V Bk anything they can get there hands on
I hate to be that guy; but today I'll say it - me. I don't have anything against s30v, really; but I like 1095-CV...and, if I was going to request a stainless steel, there are others I'd prefer (m390, s35vn, aebl, nitro-v).
There was a time I would have grabbed an s30v Becker, just to have; though (if the price was right)
