I just received my new BK&T machete and it is probably the most comfortable knife I have ever held. It slices through bamboo like it was butter and does not hurt the wrist or arm after a lot of use. I don't know how Ethen Becker was able to desigh this machete just for me, but I am sure he did!!!!

This will, without a doubt, be with me on any trip I will take from now on.
The thinner blade just "sings" throught the air and slices and dices whatever you want to cut....feels like the whole blade is a "sweet spot".
The sheath sucks but will do. The blade.... I LOVE IT, YES I DO!!!

Jeff, if you don't get one of these for your trips then you are surely missing out on a wonderful experience!!!

Never fear...have one by my computer as I'm typing this. Ethan knows his stuff when it comes to designing gear that works. Not only are his knives excellent, but the Patrol Pack is my pack of choice for traveling in the jungle.

He and Will sent the original concept drawing of the Patrol Machete (formerly Bush Hog) to me and ask my opinion on it. After taking a look at the picture I knew they had a winner. As everyone here already knows, machetes are some of my favorite blades.

Screw the sheaths, once you get to swinging and working a machete you'll never sheath it unless you're traveling long distances. I never use machete sheaths and just duct tape the edge for rides on airplanes overseas, and just throw it unprotected in the bottom of the car or boat for stateside stuff. If I need to take a machete hiking then it's going to be in my hand and not in the pack.

Jeff;
Will you be doing a future review on the Patrol Machete? I am looking forward to seeing if you can break it while on one of your trips.

Ron,
Glad you like it! I'm sure we will hear from Jeff about his experiences with the PATROL MACHETE somewhere, if not here on the forums!But, what about a review from you....I mean, you've got the machete, and you certainly can tell us how the thing works for you in the field....let's hear about it!

Also, remember, I'm giving an ARCLITE for the first 'action photo' of a PATROL MACHETE posted on the CAMILLUS forum

Take care!

Will;
Due to some medical problems, I will not be getting out into the field in the near future but as soon as I do I will certainly have my Patrol Machete with me and will give as much of a review that I can.
Alas, I don't have a digital camera so will miss out on the contest.
