bk1 aka Becker Brute

I wonder what the minimum quantity necessary would be for KaBar to make a limited edition run - a Legacy Run, if you will.

It could be on a pre-ordered basis, numbered of course and maybe in a natural finish. Despite it's performance (not that bad in its own right I would assume) compared to the 9, it is a great looking blade. KaBar obviously does larger runs than the small semi-production/semi-custom shops but a Beckerhead Limited Edition Brute I think would be popular amongst the faithful and perhaps somewhat beyond. Just a thought.

KaBar, if my idea flies, I get a vig - one brute!

The chances of bringing back a blade I know is inferior in performance to several knives we make
in the same size category are between slim and none.....

If ever there was a knife to hack your way through and out of hell, this is it. I understand the attraction, but it is heavy combined with other gear and I much prefer the Magnum Camp for my needs. But to each their own. :)

I have a Effingham made Brute and a Reinhardt kukri that I bought back in the 90s. I bought them to use and I have used them. Do they have any value beyond what they can do as tools?...Perhaps, but I don 't care much about that. Of the two, the kukri is the most used. It cuts through wood/fiber/anything else unlike any other of the many blades I have, including other kukris...I like the brute for some tasks but the length and thickness makes it less capable as a cutting tool. It does chop and split pretty well and replaces my Gransfors Wildlife Hatchet on some expeditions.
