Of all the knives I could have bought, I stepped back in time a little bit and bought a Brute. I think (just my little ol' two-cents) that the Brute is the quintessential Becker. I'd love to see a new run of these knives, but, from what I've read that will probably never happen because of the glut of big choppers on the market. But, that particular Becker is something to hold AND behold! It's one of my favorite pieces. Thanks Tony (TTD).

a lot of people like it and fortunately, a lot were made. i see them for sale all the time. heck, one just went by for well under $100 the other week - had i seen that in time, it would be been mine ;)

yah, i'll probably want another one (minty mint) for the "archive", and i've retired my Cammy model is favor the the Cammy BK-09 Bowie for various reasons, but with so many good choppers on the market, for very nice prices, there's not much need to get obsessed over the Brute - it had its time in the woods, and that's over probably for this lifetime - so it goes. make way for the new and different and improved.

There just isn't anything around like the one and only Brute. I don't care what kabar, says they ought to bring it back.

Even if it does sell well, you have to see that BK-1 sales would hurt sales of other large Ka-Bar et al choppers. I'd think it would impact sales of the BK-9, the heavy bowie, the kukri machete and so on.

That said, it's a sweet knife but Ka-Bar has to make wise business decisions if it is to continue to thrive.
