Do any of you guys have any info on the new BK Crewman? If it is on the market yet, and if so where can it be purchased? Thanks.

I've handled a friends BK7 and liked it a lot, it was amazingly sharp for a factory blade. The BK10 looks like a more convenient size for general knocking around. The grip is awfully slick, though. Has anyone tried to add tack to the grip somehow? Will something like Plasti-Dip stick to it?

I've been watching the Camillus forum alot since I've first registered, and I've noticed a handful of people mention the slickness of the BK handles. Although I don't own a BK, I've been wondering what possibilities there were to try and eliminate this problem that people have said to have? How about skateboard tape? I read an article last year in a knife mag(?) where the writer applied a litte skateboard tape to add a little grip to a Benchmade folder he was testing. Do you think this could be a good option...in moderation?

Just a thought....

I've got a BK-7 and I don't find the handle slippery at all. It fits my hand too well for that. It is pretty big around, though, so adding grip tape might make it that extra bit too big for small hands. How about a little sandpaper, or a file, to add light grooving?

I don't find the grips on my BK-7 that slippery, but I'm a big fan of grip tape for a lot of applications. Best of all, if you don't like it, just rip it off and nothing's lost.

I'll try it in the next few days and tell you what I think. I'll probably just put some on the top and bottom and maybe a strip down the middle of the sides. I've found that you definitely don't want to overdo it.

It would also work to remove the grip-panels and have them lightly bead-blasted, but then, I don't have a problem with the grip being too slick for me on my BK knives.

Because of the dual-guard design I don't care about the grip slickness either, but if you're hot to make it more grippy... I remember a fella who makes some G10 scales for the BKs, I also knew another fella who took a knife and just scored the handles horizontally, looked ugly as hell, but apparently worked for him.
