Bk11 or 14?

Hey, I'm looking to purchase my first becker after the holidays and I've decided to go with a necker first.

They both seem to be around the same price online...So is there any reason why I should get the 14 over 11 or vice versa?

It's all in the handle, the blade is the same. I find the handle on the 14 much more comfortable, but maybe that's just me. Either way you will get a knife that far outperforms its size and price point.

Yeah I thought the blades looked identical...the 14 does look a lot more comfortable than the 11.

I like the ESKabar handle better, my hands are medium large, and it fits so well, especially with the wrap.

Great pics moose! I would say my hands are medium-large also so it looks like i'll be going with the 14.

I'd go with the 14, I have Swamp warden and a BK11 and I use the SW a lot more than the becker because the handle is so much better
 
I went with the BK14 because I could use my Izula scales on it and make it super comfortable:D

my job huh? not so much yet ;) by the power of Ethan's Grey Beard, I have the POWER.... hahahahhahahah.

i keep Ethan off the mod panel, giving him the freedom to roam chafe free on the internets, provide the rabble with FAQs and have provided a community service for decades now, keeping all those loose and scurvy old Becker blades off the streets, ESPECIALLY the elusive Machax... just you wait new guy ;)

I have a 14 coming specificly because of the revised grip\handle. Those scales make a nice one even sweeter, but I'll wait and see what comes down with the tweeners. Sometimes light and basic is attractive for those specific qualities. Gorgeous knife indeed though buddy. :)

Thanks upnorth. The BK14 is fabulous just the way it comes out of the box.

Unless you can't open your beer via some other tool or mechanism, I'd believe the BK14 might be the better choice. Nothing against my BK11, of course. Love it. But I need the 14 now.

I think the BK14 can open a bottle assuming you do not use scales.
here is the ESSE Izula and since the BK14 has the Izula handle...:cool:
 
I have and like both...the 11 is around my neck right now, and the 14 is in the truck console.

Once the joy and madness that is Christmas (our first white one in 41 years) has passed I'll post some pics of both in use.
 
Hey Everybody....

I really think that other than giving half my royalty to the Chief Rat Fink that most will prefer the 14.....The 11 will do a better job on beer and barbed wire and is SLIGHTLY more compact and I get to keep ALL the money.....In the end on this one I think it REALLY comes down to fashion (it really hurts when I say nice things about Jeff,Mike is OK)....

They both work really well.......Did this post help you, probably not but, please give me credit for giving it a shot....They both work.....

I'm sure IUKE12 is right. It's not hard to open a beer w/anything, pretty much. BK14 should work, too.
