bk11 or 14???

Ok, so this week I'll be making my next Becker purchase. Although I wish it could be a 7 or 9, I don't quite have the funds or an understanding enough wife to justify the purchase YET. So I wanted to go ahead and pick up a neck knife to fill my Becker fix for the month. Only question is, which one? I'm leaning more towards the eskabar just because of the lengthier handle, but I don't know, maybe someone could tell me otherwise. I'll probably end up with both eventually, but chosing which one first is killing me. Any help is appreciated!
 
Both are equally good. Seriously. Some folks gripe about the handle on the BK 11, but in reality it is quite comfortable. Ethan did a good job with the design. You'll probably eventually get one of each, so start with the low number and work up from there!
 
I have both the 11 my pinkie isnt on the handle. I still have plenty of grip and I think the beer opener is sweet.
 
I could not agree more. I have the 14 and I was just out looking at the 11 and think I will get it this weekend. Man they are addicting.... I am even seeing them in movies now. I am not sure if it is the 14 or the esee Azula but there is one on the front vest of one of the guys waiting in line at the armory when they stop to watch the aliens hit the beach front on TV news. I really like the desert tan paint job on it.
 
I may have to just tally up the results in a few days and buy the majority vote lol keep em' coming
 
Just remember... 14-lovers who say the 11's handle is too small simply need to realize that their hands are actually unnecessarily large. IOW get the 11.
 
I think I'd go with a BK14, mostly because I hear that the BK11 really becomes super comfy when you get scales for it. Since I don't know if I could manage to spend as much on the handles as I did on the knife, I think I would go with the BK14 and its slightly larger handle.

Although to be honest, I don't think you can really go wrong either way.
 
I got the 14 with no plans to get the 11. The bottle opener has no value to me, since I don't drink things that come in bottles requiring bottle openers.

ocnLogan-I agree... I'm just curious as to which would perform best under heavy camp use. It sucks because I'be never gotten to handle either before. But I will need a comfortable knife for heavy field work.
 
Well, I've never held either of them either (:(), but I think personally if I was buying a knife for "heavy field work" I would want it to have a comfortable handle. Now, if you figure you'll be using it constantly, then maybe a set of micarta might be just the right thing for you.

I guess right now I see these knives as more "occasional" use knives, that will generally not be used for any extreme duration of time. Because of that, I am leaning towards a BK14 with a paracord wrap. But if I was to use one of these all of the time, I think I would for sure or make some sort of handle for them for prolonged use.

The 11 is bc and the 14 is ad!

If you don't have little girl hands, the 14 is the only way to go!

I like both but the 11 was my first and will always gold a special place for me. The 14 handle is nice but the 11 isn't really as uncomfortable as you think. But since my 11 sees mainly only small woods and edc chores it doesn't feel bad to me

But I really do like the 11 better. you just have to buy scales for it. Or paracord wrap it. the grip without either of those things imo suck.
i have big hands
the 14 has a small grip at the top of the handle, and I found that when I hold it really tight my fingernails dig into my palm. (I have big hands)
