  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

BK14.6 New Tweener/14 Concept. Input Requested

The ESEE 3's blade is only 1/8" longer that the BK11 with a full size handle. Also the same thickness. Might be worth considering. Although the handle wouldn't be the same and it's choiled. Just thoughts. :D

But yes. BK11 long would be sweet.

Oh. And the BK11 would have a little more meat at the handle to weld with. And it's a few bucks cheaper.
As for ESEE 3...I see what you did there, but no. :)

You're right, the 11 does have more to work with. I have a BK11 in the mail, a friend bought one and had it shipped to me, I'm gonna strip, polish, micarta (custom pink) Jimp, Lanyard and Kydex it for her.
Wonder if she would mind if I cut it in half instead? :)

Ha! I don't own an ESEE (yet) just noticed it was similar to what you were looking for. :D

And if she gets pissed about you cuttin it in half, blame me. :D

krylon bakes well - could strip, jimp, repaint, bake, then add the custom micarta & lanyard.

thats a thought. could make the whole knife pink. what kinda toughness does the baked Krylon have? altho she's gonna use it for a purse knife...proly heaviest work it will do is open mail lol

gunsmith buddy of mine likes it better than duracoat.

she likes shiny, so I was thinking polished...but she also like the all pink Izula. I will ask her, thanks for the tip

While I have your attention, do u know the ''recipe'' for baking the krylon? ie, oven temp, time duration

300-350 for 30-45 minutes. and make sure the paint is thoroughly dry before you try it, or it will stink you out of the house. (cheap toaster oven in the garage might not be a bad idea here)

I like this idea of yours thrillbilly. Many people (NOT ME) just don't like big knives. This would sell well to those outside the BeckerHead arena.

I like big knives...and medium knives...and small knives...and huge knives...and tiny knives. ;)

all depends on what Im doing with it...I wouldnt want to chop a tree down with a 14 and I wouldnt wanna skin a squirrel with a 9
