BK14 is damn sharp

Hope you heal up fast.

I just wrapped my BK 14 a few days ago.

While searching around here trying to make up my mind which wrap to go with I saw so many people post pictures of bad cuts from the knife popping out of the sheath.

So how did the wrap turn out?

Made me very cautious.

In a sick way im glad im not the only one who got sliced up from it. Ill try and put a picture of the wrap up tonight. it turned out well minus the bloodstains on the 550 haha

Also i feel bad for spaming my own thread with so many replies so thank you to everyone for welcoming me and caring about my "recovery"

Also, To widerstand; I currently have just a bk14 and a bk2 but i see several more in the near future.

Blood stains on your cord wrapped 14 should be a right of passage!
Preferably not your own, but you know, **** happens.

Holy smoke!! thank God you didnt do that with your BK2 you could have lost an arm! ;)

I did the exact same thing 3 weeks ago! Pulling the parachord tight and pulled it right out of the sheath and across 3 fingers. That half-second before I actually looked at my hand was the worst - I thought one of my fingers would be dangling! Luckily, wasn't too deep - looked like 3 paper cuts - I think we're both lucky!

Yeah, I saw one fella on here who had to get stitched up. I feel pretty lucky. Glad your okay too.

My GF, who also works in a kitchen, is the same way. She's taken cuts that should have needed stitches, throws some bandaids on and a latex glove, and she's back to work. Glad to hear you're alright though, Beckers have a nasty habit of collecting flesh...

I still don't know why this isn't common sense... If you're ever going to be doing anything to the knife where the edge doesn't need to be exposed...TAPE THE BLADE.

TAPE THE BLADE TAPE THE BLADE TAPE THE BLADE. Tape it up. It won't protect you from a massive chop into your hand, but if you use a couple layers of masking tape, electrical tape etc, folded over the blade edge you will spare yourself many cuts caused by dropped knives, or knives that slipped out of the sheath. It's so fast and easy to do, whenever you're doing a handle wrap.

All good advice but I think you should have told him to TAPE THE BLADE. ;)
