bk14 or bk16

I got both. The 14 (or 24) always goes with me on dayhikes, simply because for me it suffices for the light tasks you get to do on a dayhike (which is usually food prep and playing with wood, but nothing serious like making camp), it weighs nothing and is unobtrusive. 16 and an axe for overnighters. The 16 is really good at getting everything ready for starting a fire.

Where's a good place to get the bk16? And any advice on a knife sharpener? Looking for something not to complicated to use. Thanks

So, you have decided on the 16?!
Great choice. finally had the chance to use both the 16 and the 24 (with factory scales), on deer. Field dressing and skinning I find the 24 easier to control for the task. But the 16 is great for quartering and processing. (15 is better but was not one of the options you asked about)
As for sharpeners, there are hundreds if not thousands of options out there. If you are able to free hand, get a 6 or 8 inch stone, like a Norton dual grit and a strop.
If ya want simple, I like the smith sharpener with the guide and 2 diamond stones.
