BK14 or BK16?

BK 14 = EDC with a sheath that can fit on your belt under a shirt, smaller handles for occasional cutting
BK 16 = Field knife with very comfortable handle for long time cutting

Well the only other fixed blade I have is a Mora so I wanted to add another reliable blade for around the house chores, hiking, and hopefully my first camping experience. I also plan on learning how to fire a shotgun so I can go hunting and the BK16 would be along for the hunt.

I use a Mora Companion HD out in the veg garden. I find it more useful for those tasks than my BK24.

Taught my kids with a Mossberg 500 24" in 20ga. Sweet little gun.

for the price, i will recommend getting both .. i have the 9 and 14 ... waiting for the 16 next.

Im not saying anyting not already mentioned but i carry an 11 a lot, usually with a large folder. Sometimes i carry a 16 in my front right pocket (right sheath, no problem) with a small folder. IMO in an urban environment the 11 or 14 is a better choice, elsewhere the 16 comes in more handy. Or you could just man up and buy both then buy a 7 or a 9...just saying:)
 
i am interested in the 11 too, seem like a decide size similar to 14 .. no harm getting more, maybe pass to my wife when we go do bush crafting
 
The Blade on the BK-11 and BK-14/24 are identical. Only difference is the handles. I prefer the 11 handle with scales over the 14. Some people like the 14 better.

Just get one of each and see what one fits your hand better and sell the other? Or keep both.
 
I love the 16 for outdoorsy things and hiking trips, as well as for your daily around-the-house-and-in-the-yard tasks.
However, since I'm more often in an office environment, I use my 14 a lot more. It was my first too, so I might be a bit biased.

i will certainly get both but so far have yet to see one in the shop to give them a decent comparison. planning to get more beakers in and i will get a few for myself the next round hehehe
