BK14 vs BK11, which one you like better and why?

Title says it all. Would like to hear your comparisons and thoughts. I rarely carry a small fixed blade knife (usually just a folder) but feel I should probably pick these up.

Pretty much the same blade different handles. The 14 is longer, feels better in hand. A full four finger handle. The 11s handle was designed for utility (bottle opener, wire breaker notch) so you sacrifice length and comfort for those tools. Also the handle design is for 3 fingers. I have both and use and carry both. 11 for camping and opening bottle of dirty water with my buddies, 14 for hiking and edc.

I purchased an 11 but never used it because of the handle, I tried but it just didn't fit my hand well......they nailed it with the 14, long blade and comfy handle, I sold my 11 and izula when the eskabar hit the market.

Also it only take a second to modify the izula handles to fit the eskabar

Both!

The Micarta for the 11 makes it into a whole 'nother aminal. I didn't like it much until I got the micarta for it. I've got some big hands to and I think they both fit nice.

I'm with MWTIC on this one, I have micarta for both and the 11 just fits my hand better. I may be a little partial because it was my first becker.

I like the Eskabar. I always like to have a knife I can really wrap my hand around. I'm not a fan of three finger knives. These little BK14's are beasts, I can vouch for that. Most people paracord wrap the handle on the BK14, but there's scales out there on the market. Actually, Sh@rp just finished up his G10 scales for it, that is if there's any left.

I was at the same situation as you, Bk11 or Bk14, and I went with the BK14 and I'm very happy.

Don't like the look of the 14 handle so it was the 11 I ordered this week. Fingers crossed that the 3-finger grip works for me, I've got big hands.

I like the 14 better:cool::thumbup: But I like the 11 A LOT:D Get both.

Get the micarta for it and you'll be in love. :)

didn't like the handle on the 11 so I never bothered buying one.
love my BK14 though -- especially with the new full length G10 scales.

14 IMO, in a fixed blade that small you need all the handle you can get. The bottle opener & wire breaker are handy just a choice between more comfy handle or utility abilities of 11. With the 14 you have the result of a collaberation between Esee & Becker which might appeal to you.

I always say in the end it's what you want. I'm sure one of them is whispering sweet nothings in your ear! Find solace in the fact that if you get one & still have an itch for the other you wont end up sleeping on the couch!

14, cause I already carry two other bottle openers. ;)

I vote for the 14. It fits my hand better. The Necker feels like I don't have a good grasp of it. That said, I have both and use both. I gave my well broken in BK14 to Mrs. Tradewater (aka, Kitchen Staff :D be sure and tell her Trade) this weekend at the SoS show. She had been admiring it for a while. Time to get another one out of the cabinet. :D

It was the 11 until I got the Sh@rp scales. Now it's the 14, hands down. Just a better feel.

I have them both and prefer the 14, pretty much for the reasons listed above (don't need bottle opener, handle fits hand better), but also the 14 takes a paracord wrap better imho.

The 11, use it with the handle Bare.

Didn't receive instructions with the knife and am still trying to figure out what the sharp thing on the other end of the knife is used for. :D

That's a tick remover. You can use it to open bags of Quickrete, but you might also need some scissors.

I haven't been allowed near the 14 yet, so I'm not sure. As a matter of fact, I don't even get to use the 11 much either.

If you'd step in the kitchen once in a while, you might get to use one of them.
