Bk14 vs bk11

I have a bk14 with a double cord wrap and am thinking about getting a bk11 with micarta too. Does anyone have pics of a bk11 with micarta next to a bk14 with scales? None of the gun/knife shows around me have had an 11 to check out. Any pics and opinions are welcome.

Not Micarta but you get the general idea. Whereabouts in that hole called mass?

The BK-11 has KaBar micarta scales. The BK-14 has ESEE-Izula micarta scales.

Those scales look sweet how do you guys like the feel in hand of the 11 compared to the 14?

The 11 with micarta feels better to me than the 14 with scales.

Jonny1280- unless you have small hands then that may be one of the most helpful things I've read yet haha I think you may have given me enough of an excuse to order one

The one thing I like better about the BK-14 is I can hook my pinky into the ring for better control.

Ha! No small hands here. They're med/large. Large Atlas glove if that helps.
Yeah man I'd recommend the 11 to everyone and their Granny!
I know I've posted this a few times, but the 11 fits me better for this reason:
It provides me with a full three finger grip. It feels natural. I can't quite get a comfortable full grip on the 14.
I've had an 14 with scales for a few weeks now and while I really want to like it, it just doesn't do it for me.
The 11 is my go to neck knife. Period.
I'll tell you what - get the 11 and if you don't love it, I'll trade you my 14.

I have nothing helpful to add except I prefer cord wrap on my 11 and scales on my 14, and both are currently on my persons.

I have factory scales and they are excellent....for me


But they are somewhat heavy for the Hulk to pickup

And Perfect for eradicating moss

I have an 11 and really like it. the BK 11 with a good set of wood or micarta scales is hard to beat.

To me, mind you, there is very little difference in the thickness. The 14 is a little longer, allowing me to get all 4 fingers on the grip. With the 11, I get 3 and a half fingers. Fwiw, I carry the 11 every single day.

I have X-large hands, and haven't tried an 11.
Even with 50% thicker than factory, extra-long scales, I can still only get 3 fingers on my BK24. I can get my whole hand on the oversize 16 below, but stock even that was a tad too small for me.

How's the thickness compare between the two with the scales? Looks to be about the same from what I've seen.

I think the 11's micarta is thinner, but it swells in the middle and seems thicker there than the 14.

My pinky is half on half off. Feels a little goofy. Not horrible, but not great.

Here's a couple of the 11 in hand:

My pinky barely finds purchase on the end, if any. The 11 feels comfortable and sturdy in my hand.
