Bk14 vs bk11

i like that kydex... ive been thinking about picking up some.. i found some guy on that auction site that we all know and love for dirt cheap... i may order one and test it out before getting a couple more

I think that comparing the feel in hand between the two without doing some actual cutting tasks is a little misleading. The handle on the 11 feels short to me until I actually start cutting with it. When I hold it with my thumb on the spine it creates a pivot point at my index finger in the choil causing the rear of the handle to come up and nestle right in the middle of my hand right above the palm. This action seems to lock the knife in my hand really well and cutting with it is very comfortable and allows me to generate a lot of power through the knife...I dont know if anything I just wrote makes any sense, its kind of hard to explain. My main point is don't shy away from the 11 if your in the market for a small fixed blade and torn between the 11 and 14, or even the izula. I was skeptical and thought the handle on the 11 would be too short for me before I bought one. Even when I first held it in hand I had my doubts but it becomes a whole new animal when you start putting it to use. I learned then, don't second guess Uncle E...he knows what he's doing!

What you said makes perfect sense!
If I were to pick one on appearance alone it would be the 14 hands down.
But after using both, the 11 just works the best for me. Very comfortable.
And like you said, it locks into the hand very nicely.
The 11 is awesome. I'm a big fan. The 14...ehh.

The bk14 and bk11 are my favorite beckers..... picking one is difficult but for long use the 14 is more comfortable

FWIW, I really do like the OEM factory Zytel scales for the 14 & 24, though they would be perfect if they would checker or add some texturing to make for a secure grip when wet, and if they would come in black and foliage green....that ghey bright orange doesn't quite do it for me.
