I've got both and from the start of the blade up there the same. I voted BK-14, the extra handle length just does the trick for me and not that there's scales coming out... it's a done deal. Don't open bottles and if I needed to.... I've got a knife so it's not like I'm gonna die of thirst.:) I don't care for finger grooves but for the amount of handle the 11 has it's comfortable enough though I've only ever had micarta on mine.

I also don't care for how square the finger-guard is on the BK-11 compared to the 14 which is rounder (like my fingers).

I have and like both but for me the 11 is just a bit more comfie - especially now with the micarta. I use the heck out of that knife. If I didn't have an 11, I'm sure I'd be a BK14 freak.

I finally picked up an 11 for myself, even though I've given a few as gifts already. Anyway, I'm still liking the 14 more. Maybe because it was my first BKT product, but having more useful handle does a lot for me.

I need a good answer to this poll! I need a lil' buddy for my BK2 but I can't decide which ONE. Yeah, just one. Then again, do I want a skeleton steel handle? Or micarta? Or cord wrap? Ugh!

I've had 5 neckers and 5 14's, I've gifted all the neckers out and one of the 14's. I guess I like the Eskabar BK14 better.

The poll is neck to neckers...... okay that was kinda ghey, mods please delete :D

I've got both and prefer the bk14. In fact I have an 11 that I'll trade you straight across for another 14.

Yeah, one of those things where you're just messing around and get carried away :)

I have an edge pro sharpening system, so I keep the "retired" 1 x 6" polishing tapes for misc. stuff. One day for kicks, I started polishing the BK-11's spine. Liked how the SS and the Blue steel blended with the polishing. After that, I switched to 1500 grit 3M automotive sandpaper. Once I took off the scales I did the hard to reach spots with a dremel. Did about 95% by hand tho. Took, I dunno, a long time - I'd load up a TV show on the PC and watch as I sanded the blade, so never payed attention to the time. It was all pretty fun (didn't lose any digits!).

Picked up some .5 micron (apparently 8000 grit equivalent) polishing tape recently, thinking about using that on it. Yeah, think I will. Watch some more, Everybody Loves Raymond, episodes.

Edit: Not as much improvement, as I had hoped, but it's decent.

I'll go for the BK11. Mine jumped out of the box and dressed my deer out without blinking. Then it popped the top of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. The 14 wouldn't have kept in the race.
