Hi all,
I just bought a new BK16, and I'm really happy with the knife. I'm less happy with the coating, but I can deal with it. I like the sheath, but the only time I'd really use it is in the woods. The sheath is bigger than I'd be comfortable wearing anywhere else. I know there are tons of replacement sheath options, but I thought I'd share one for those of us on a budget. My BK16 is parked happily in a Buck Ergohunter leather sheath. You can see the sheath at - http://www.buckknives.com/index.cfm?event=product.detail&productID=3876 . The picture really doesn't do the sheath justice. You can buy the sheath elsewhere for less than $20. It's really a nice sheath, and the BK16 fits great. I modified the sheath a bit by moving the male portion of the snap on the handle strap to tighten up the fit, but that's your choice. I have a firesteel stuffed into the outside pocket where the skinner is pictured. My steel is connected to the sparker with a cord loop, and I put the strap through that loop just in case the steel falls out of the sheath. I'd post a pic, but I'm one of those non-paying members.
