BK16 replacement sheath

Unpaid members cannot post attachments, but posting pics via the method I did is not posting an attachment, and is doable by any member, paid or unpaid.

In that case, let me try my Beckers

Wow! it works.

Great idea on the Buck sheath, I will keep it in mind. I am a Buck fan as well, so part Becker and part Buck works for me

. . . It's really a nice sheath, and the BK16 fits great. I modified the sheath a bit by moving the male portion of the snap on the handle strap to tighten up the fit . . .

I ordered one of these and received it today . . . my BK17 will work its way out of the sheath as is . . . retention offered by the handle strap is just not enough to secure the knife.

You say you moved the male portion of the snap on the handle strap to tighten up the fit . . . precisely how did you do this? I have no leather working tools or expertise and need coaching!

Any help you can provide will be much appreciated . . .

Thanks in advance.

On my brothers sheath I wedged the handle of my 17 down into the sheath, instead of just sitting on top....that was pretty secure, made the snap tighter because it was on the fatter part of the 17's handle

if i was gonna order one I would just rely on the pouch retention and cut the snap off...it is a lil large for the handle anyways.

I went to Ace hardware and found snaps in the screws and bolts section. I brought the sheath to make sure that the snap I left on the sheath with the Buck logo fit the replacement new piece. Then I drilled out the old snap bottom, drilled a new hole in the strap where I wanted the new snap, and pounded it in with the eyelet tool I have for installing grommets in the kydex sheaths I plan on trying to make. Thrillbilly is right about jamming the handle down into the sheath a bit for a nice snug fit.
