BK2.0

Great responses you guys. For me it was the BK2,7 then 9, in order of purchase. Love this series, I have more of them that I want for sure. What I'm looking for, probably like some is a belt knife that can chop decent, weight and length always a factor. Slice and cut good, because cord/rope/food and various non-metal material is always there. I do have a collection of axes and use them. Sometimes I need to baton wood, when an axe or hatchet is to heavy to carry. Canoe trips/bush scouting/hiking. So it should baton well. The BK7 was close to the right length, weight. Clip point was a minus, and we discussed the thumb ramp already. After I gave the 7 to my son, had a bit of knife withdrawal. Still have the 9,and I did buy an Azwelke kydex sheath for it. The search continues for my Number 1. Doesn't have to be a Becker. But I would prefer it. Solid knives.

Get the 12!

For most of my climbing/hiking/trail camping adventures I carry the 5. It's lite, chops well for the trail, and batons trail sized lumber. Occasionally I will carry my 7, or the 4 just to take them out for a stroll.

I ,must add that the severity of the climb/hike does dictate which blade i carry. Devils Path is 25 miles 2 days and 7 peaks. So I carry the lite 5. When I'm doing something like a Breakneck Ridge which is a one day 2 peak 12 mile I can afford to carry a bit more weight like the 4,7,9

Thanks Warrior, I can't get the BK2L outta my head now. Thats what I had in mind, or something very close. Anyway, Drop Point, 7 1/2-8 inch, just like that. I think you a have a Winner. Make it Ethan, I'm sold.

I am still waiting for a BK-Woodsman Cleaver, with a hole in top corner of blade, for hanging it up. Sigh, for more than 10 years now. It could even be called a Tactical Cleaver......because it would be all black, not that that would help.

The Bk29 has the perfect shape to modify. It's just to valuable for me to pull the trigger!!!!

I know they aren’t Becker’s, but Kabar has so many zombie models on clearance that it would be a good place to start. Not Ethan’s handles, but a lot of cro-van for under $50!

Every person who is a knife user that I have showed the picture of the BK2L asks if it is available. C'mon Kabar. This knife is a hit. Do it! 3/16" thick 7" blade length. What a great knife it would be. Has the possibility to be the best in the BK line up.

I have had my BK2 for a few years now. Like it, but don't love it. My suggestion for a New knife in the BK series is, take the design of the BK2 and stretch the blade out to 8 inches. Use 3/16 in thickness. That would be my perfect Becker. Just sayin. I have a BK9, really love it, but it's a little heavy to have strapped on your belt all day.

You've just described something that can be created by modifying a BK9. I doubt the weight would be less enough to make an appreciable difference on the belt.
