Has anyone ever discussed a Becker knife with the BK2's blade profile & handle, but using a 0.188" thick blade, or even a 0.165" thick blade?

With the 0.188" steel it would be kind of similar to Doug Ritter's RSK MK2 - which I'm pretty sure is no longer available. Truth be told, I actually have two Ritter MK2's.

I have a Camilus BK10, but like the BK2's drop point blade shape better, thus the Ritter MK2.

I truly like my BK16, but with my XXXL hands I think that I'd prefer the bigger handle of the BK2, BK10, ...

.
Thats a winner right there. People want that knife.
Seems like it'd be a no sh$tter to slam that out.
They've got the steel in the right thickness already, I'm sure Ethan would be good with it.
Hell, do a 1000 piece sprint run without a coating just to see how fast they sell.
When they sell out, give it a coating and make it part of the regular line up.
Call it the "Bk 81" or "Warrior drop point" or some dam thing like that.

Doubt it would ever happen, but it would be cool. The BK2, is a big seller the way it is.

How wide is the BK-2 blade, spine-to-edge, exactly?
Mine's up at the cabin, and I sold my spare...
Looks like it's exactly the handle-height, and measuring on my BK-7 it looks like 1-5/8". Can anyone confirm?

While we're dreaming,
.165 on some kinda modified mega tweener handle would be cool.
Width doesn't have to be 1 5/8 for that one.

Thinking of grinding your 7 into a 2?

Ooh yeah.
I do love fantasizing about these variants, and also about making prototypes.
Unfortunately, as I discovered with the Kepharts, once you deviate from the factory handle profile, you've bought yourself a LOT more work...

Nah, I'd start with fresh material. :)
10 years ago, I tried to make a BK-Kleaver, about 5" long on the standard handle (this was pre-tweeners, of course). We hadn't worked out our HT protocols for thicker stuff and it failed badly. It's still kicking around in the shop, all rusty somewhere. And to this day, I've still never made a full-size BK-handle piece despite having done a tweener-compatible and a bucket of '62-compatible blades.
