BK2 First attempt at wood scales

Just finished my first attempt at wood handles. Stabilized walnut. Turned out OK considering I have no woodworking skills and did most of the sanding with a borrowed dremel tool. I think I see a leather sheath in the future for this one. Now to take it out and get it dirty. :D

Thanks for the kind words all. The pins are just 3/16 brass rod cut to size and epoxied in. I cut X's in the back of the scales with a small cutting wheel to give the epoxy something to grab. I did make some mistakes but overall am still satisfied. It gives me a whole new respect for the custom makers who do this kind of thing all the time. Will de-virginate it this weekend at the annual boys pig roast.
 
Looks really good. I love how the grain just pops out.
Great job, especially for your first attempt!
 
Not a virgin anymore. ;) Also used for a little light food prep. chopping onions and garlic for pigroast. Great knife.
