A slightly longer explanation on why I LOVE ME some jimping.
I started out with folders. Their design is to be flat. So a fist grip on a folder... sucks. But with good jimping. (see spyderco) You can really get some traction on that thin handle for some good hard work.
On the BK-2, I don't know that I'd use it if it were there. The handle is designed for good grip out of a fist. And I can compare it to a BK 10 (that I got and wub) and the traction for the majority of the work is about the same be it BK-2 fist grip or BK-10 thumb on thumb ramp. Now for detail work WITH ONE HAND (that's important) I feel the thumb ramp gives you more control over how much pressure you're putting down. But there are several grip styles (lots of which I use) that give much better control and precision than any of the 1 handed grips. I'm often using a 2 handed grip in a position I'm comfortable with, and the jimping or lack there of is never an issue.
Still, for that 1 in 10 chance I'll be going with a 1 hand option, I'd rather have the choice. I can just ignore it otherwise. Just know what tool ya got, how to use it, and you'll do fine.
