BK2 or 7 or 9 - choose one...

You guys are outdoor woodsmen, or you sure put on that way. You guys hack down saplings for the fun of it. So I could see that the choices being like this:

ABSOLUTELY ONLY ONE BLADE: BK2 or BK7

ABSOLUTELY ONLY TWO BLADES: BK9 & BK11/14

Now would your choice be any different if you were more of a mild-mannered state park camper, or day hiker on public trails?

Since you are asking for opinions...mine is to get the bk2. Try putting a bk9 on your belt on a crowded trail. I keep my big blades in my pack until I get to where I'm going. For your use, the bk2 will scare the kiddies less.

BK7 would be my pick. The Magnum Camp is my favorite, but the BK7 is my close #2.

It's like a USMC KaBar, one of my favorite knives of all time, but mo' bedda.

The more I think about it, the BK2 is just about my perfect size knife. It is a bit large for EDC, but extremely useful in other areas.

I don't own any beckers (yet) but if I were to pick one (basing this on the equivalent from ESEE) I would get the BK9. The smaller one can do the small tasks, and the BK9 will be able to perform more heavy duty tasks. That, and I like to chop and baton :)

Think of it as a "check list" and not a "choice!" :) I have not had my hands on a BK-2 yet, but I own a Brute, a Necker, Combat Utility and a Combat Bowie. If I had to have only one, I'd probably take the BK-7 for all around use. The Necker gets carried and used daily, the BK-9 is my favorite chopper, but the BK-7 gets put on the belt when I want an all around general purpose big blade. I have a few more models to check off the list, but eventually I will have all that are currently available! :)

I ended up with the BK-2 and love it. My son has a BK-7 and that rocks too but I think I like my BK-2 better.

That's his on top and mine on the bottom.

Now we need a BK-9 at some point. :D
