Hi guys,

Long time observer and a huge fan of Becker knives. They go well here in the Australian bush, very robust.

The knife is scary sharp and will make a superb yard knife for general duties. I am considering a tiger stripe mustard patina or blueing.

A very dented and chipped blade and spine . Brother in law was going to toss it in the trash

Tedious sanding stage - Also grinded spine to remove three large chips, battoning would say.

Time to sharpen

Outstanding job. Good to have you aboard, stick around.

Gassy,

Nice job, that polish must have been a labor of love.

Welcome aboard, hope to hear from you often.

BTW, got a chance to visit Melbourne a year ago ; had the opportunity to watch the Geelong Cats in a playoff game at a local brewpub. Great sport, that Australian rules football.

Thanks lads for the warm welcome, I wont be going anywhere I feel I have found a great place to be. Yeti it was a labor of love, I couldn't see it being thrown away and destroyed. My brother in law was very surprised to see the outcome. No better way to watch Aussie rules than at the pub

Nice save. That polish looks real nice.
Have any more of the Before pics? We love to see "used" stuff around here.

Nice job! Taught your brother a thing or two, eh? :D

Well done! That is the sort of attitude I like to see. Took it, fixed it up, made it your own. With that labor into it, why it looks better than new!

:thumbup:NICE WORK!! That is a good looking knife, especially considering how beat up you said it was.

I bet your BIL is going to be experiencing some regret when he sees what you have done to it!:(
Are you going to put something on the tang so it doesn't rust under the handle??

In hindsight I wish I had have taken more pictures especially of the spine. You can see if you look in pic 2 how I had to grind the spine. I actually found the whole process somewhat therapeutic.
