BK2 repurposed

Thanks lads for the warm welcome, I wont be going anywhere I feel I have found a great place to be. Yeti it was a labor of love, I couldn't see it being thrown away and destroyed. My brother in law was very surprised to see the outcome. No better way to watch Aussie rules than at the pub
Footy rocks! It's absolutely my favorite form of football. And great job on that BK2!  :)

Awesome job on that knife! Are you still planning a mustard patina or blueing? That would be a shame, IMO; I'd leave it as-is and just keep it well oiled.

Thanks, decided to keep it as is, turned out a great knife.

Wow, tossing it in the trash?!? O_o

I think I could always find a use for a beat up knife, even one I felt was unsightly. But throwing a Becker in the trash? This concept is completely foreign to me.

Beautiful polishing job. Btw, is that the Lansky diamond system? Been using their regular 5 stone set and was wondering how they compared. Not to get too far off - topic, but do you wrap the ends of the Lansky vise with anything when you polish like that? Ive noticed my vice can be a bit rough on a finish if I dont wrap it with tape, etc.

agree with other members here, seems like mustard patina, etc would be a shame on this one.

Thanks TR for the kind comments. It is a Lansky, and no only the stock rubber that is on the vice tips was used, but that was only for sharpening. The polishing was done by hand with various grades of sandpaper. I didn't end up putting a patina on- oh and welcome.

I can't believe how good it looks. Excellent job on the polishing, looks almost brand new. You should send the previous owner a few picks to show him what he almost threw away.

Nice! It's always a shame to see a knife with so much use left in it tossed out. Looks great all polished up.

Since this thread has been brought back, what's its current state Gassy? Have you been using it? This was started right about the time I signed up. Looks fantastic!
