Well all, I am done. Finished everything I really wanted to accomplish with my BK2 as far as kit and attachment is concerned. It is good to go, loaded up, and aside from a few small things to toss in the box, done. Here she is in the finished state. Hope you enjoy.

There will be some small refinements over time of course. It is very comfortable, and even on my side nothing broke or poked me. All in all, I am satisfied. Thanks for all the kinds words throughout the whole ordeal that was the process of getting everything to this point, I really appreciate it.

Now show me yours! Let me see your entire setup, with pouches and altoids tins and all that stuff! Post pics!

Nice job Derek! That setup looks sweet. What are the contents of that box that will be for sell for beckerheads? :D:D

Sweet setup DerekH, like the box and the way you setup the BK-14. I hope you don't mind but I think I'm going to copy the way you did your BK14 with my BK11.

That looks great DerekH!
Can't help but notice the chance of loosing that Escabar, branch could grab the open hole. Maybe you would notice when it got pulled out, maybe not. I do like the setup, and have been thinking about a similar way to attach my HEST to the Junglas.

Hey Derek....

I really like your set-up.....I can never help thinking about problems when I see a sheath growing in thickness in heavy brush (I live in an area where the old timers refer to certain rhododendron thickets as "hells" for a good reason).....But your system allows easy off to a pocket or pack.......Very cool all the way around......Me hats off to you on this one for sure.........

Thanks for sharing along the way....

All Best.......

The contents of the box that is currently available to Beckerheads for the low low price of $90.14 (which is how much that thing cost to get made) is a Lansky Diamond Rod sharpener, a Firesteel.com bunker firesteel at 5" long by 1/2" thick, with striker, and a cord end/whistle from GoingGear, and an orange bic mini lighter. Added to that will be some firestraws, once I get off my duff and cram some pjcb in some straws, and maybe a few other odds and ends.

As far as the box goes, yeah, it cost a ridiculous amount to have made. If I was able to get it cast, then it would probably cost less, but as of right now I am not committing myself to anything. Yet.

No worries, that is why I posted it, in the hope that it might help someone else out.

I am not too concerned with that yet. I had thought about maybe a small lanyard to connect it all to me, maybe with a small clip or something that attaches to the belt. I will probably figure something out for that though.

So how much for a rig like that?? I like it alot.

I have no idea, the only thing I directly paid for was the box and the nylon strapping. The Eskabar was a prize, and the BK2 the missus bought me.

Thanks Uncle Ethan, that means a lot coming from you.

Only thing left is to get out there and get it all dirty!

What I meant was how much would it cost for me to pay you to make a rig like that for me :). In all seriousness though it looks like a great rig. Good stuff

Very innovative.

The one thing I might change is to add a snap (additional) to the retaining straps - I don't trust velcro, especially after worn for a bit and it loads up with crud.

I was thinking of that myself actually, just hadn't had the chance to get any yet.

Derek - cool setup but mostly wanted to say kudos for being creative and following thru with your ideas. As I am new to the site am still looking at all sorts of posts, old and new, but have read the older posts about this project with great interest (I have had my BK2 for couple months) and appreciate your thought and effort.

So my first question is regarding the rubber looking coating you placed over the webbing strap belt loop. What is that naterial?

and seondly in regards to your box (the one you made, cause I know there are some perv's on here, FLEXX I'm looking in your direction), how much room do you have left over inside of it?

That be inner tube from a bike. Went to my local bike shop and asked the guy if he had any old inner tube. I now have enough inner tube to last 3 lifetimes.

Enough for a few fire straws. I am thinking that I might revise the design of this and take out the screw holes. Would give me a lot more room, and since I am not using them they don't really serve much purpose. But that will have to wait. For a few days anyways.

Hi Derek, Nice add for the sheath,i am inept at this sort of thing but
i do eat alot of altoids and think i will black spray paint an altoids can
and get some ranger bands to secure it.I like your set up a whole lot better.Cheers!

Thanks!

I was thinking of a couple of un lubed condoms, to carry water in (flexx)

Thanks for the response. I was wondering if it was inner tube.

Looks good Derek! I might sew in a little elastic webbing on one end of the strap and then use side squeeze quick release clips myself as, I don't really like velcro, but that's just me.

I had considered those, but in such a tight manner they would be hard to do one-handed, and also they would add more bulk to the overall package. Snaps will probably be the way I go, just gotta snag some next time I am out and about.

Just make sure you get good quality snaps, the cheap ones wear out quick and they can be a pain to replace.
