BK2 VS ESEE5...I can't believe how similar they are!

On the other hand....the ergos on the ESEEs are not very good. Handles are just a couple thin slabs of micarta slapped on the tang. The Becker feels much better in the hand.

I found that as well, when I was going to get my 16 I was also considering a E-4 which one of my buddies EDC's (a little much in my opinion but to each his own). He let me test it out for a day and the only real problem I had with it was hot-spots from the handle; nothing too bad no blisters or anything but it just felt too blocky for my taste so I went for the 16 based on the Becker ergo reputation and the price difference (I was a little let down on the ergo's, too small and skinny but that can be remedied)

I added G10 liners to mine (thanks mrn8) and it is a dream now. There's some capable folks round here who can make you a set if that's a route you want to go. Alternatively you can just get aftermarket scales and ask the maker to beef them up.

The most prominent reasons in price difference would probably be the difference in materials: micarta vs. grivory for the scales, kydex vs. FRN for the sheath, etc. There are other reasons but those are the important ones IMO. Both are great knives for what they are.

Thanks RogueBowie, makes perfect sense. To each his own preference I guess. I want both :)

Moin.

I would just use a file to take out the glass-breaker pommel if you don't want it. There is plenty of steel to work with. It does work well on automobile glass though, but that's not needed/wanted by most. Take care.
