BK24 D'EsKabar, A First Look

I'm really digging the finish on these. Is it something that will come off or is it because of the way the blade was made?

Awesome! I cannot wait! I will be buying minimum of 2, one of which for my wife(which, even though not a knife person, wants). I also love D2, it's a really tough steel, though I have been able(under the right circumstances) to make it rust in a matter of hours. Continuous heat and water will wreck havoc on it. :)

I'll be waiting to see you test this one.

I want to see how it compares to 1095 in toughness. I'm pretty attached to my 1095CV.

If it really has Dozier beard dust in it, I'm getting one.

Right on!
I'll be getting one for sure.
I think D2 makes good sense on the Necker sized blades.
Interested to see these abused and how they hold up.
Thanks for the pics and 411 Moose!

I'm thinking your gonna wanna send one this way for Becker West. I'll send it back afterwards, promise.

Love the stonewashed look. I want one of those. That will likely be the 14 I get. It will go nicely with my BK11 CSM.

OOh very nice !! What wil be the approximate price after adding the zytle scales. Say equivalent to an Izula II with Micarta or more.

Thanks
Moin.

D2 has amazing edge retention and takes some of the sharpest edges I've ever seen. All my D2 blades have been sharper than most of my other blades. Cant wait for this release!

Pricing has not been established, as far as I know.

But here is what I do know, D2 costs more than 1095CV, by a substantial amount. These are the first one's I have seen that are off the production line, other than the 3 that were presented at Blade.

Time of release, I'm guessing will be around the first of the year, if they come out sooner, well, that's just all the more better.

MSRP on the BK14 is $60. I would venture a guess to say that pricing would guess around $95 MSRP. Nothing is confirmed until Kabar releases more info on them.

Great Knife with some dozier dust hmmm, I am all over that should go well with my Dozier 4050 also D2 steel and the knife holds an edge very well but not all that difficult to sharpen hey even if it takes twice as long the edge retention should be 3 times the 1095. OK Moose lets see the test between the 2 considering you have the only one's I have seen

A BK14 D2 Steel will go very well with this little EDC

Finally! Honestly, when I first heard about this project I thought "big deal". Although consumerism has fully taken grip and I want a new toy! After playing with my Benchmade lg Bone collector all weekend I remember how much I like D2, bring it on!

Pretty damn cool moose, how'd you get those...u must be like connected or something. Cool man rock on, looking forward to the tests, I love D2 something fierce....I have some stuff to trade if your interested?

I really like my BM Griptillian in D2 and can't imagine this wouldn't hold a wicked edge just as long. Don't let these suckers get dull, that's for sure. Before I had a sharpmaker, all my Lansky stuff wouldn't even touch it. I had to get diamond of borrow a friend's Sharpmaker to get it back to how I wanted it.
