Very interesting. Is there any performance advantage to it being straight?

I can't imagine that Ethan would have designed the Machaxe with an offset handle if a straight one would have performed better...

I'm certainly interested. I could see getting one of these straight ones... maybe pimping it with some VZ scales...

not really - I don't remember if it was supposed to be a straight version of the machaxe or a short version of the patrol machete, but it kind of blends both.

I remember Todd saying he wondered how the BK4 would be if it were straight.
 
The BK4 is on my very short list for short on foot day time wilderhood romps. Its light and multi-tooly enough to cover things and if things go wrong it can step up and do more intense things if needed.
