Picked this one up at the local gunshow today. Seems to be in like new condition. I know it's been discontinued since even before Camillus went under but there's not much info about value (yes, I've searched). My main question is about the sheath. All the pics I've found show the cordura sheath with this knife as well as with the other Beckers. This one is heavy black leather, fitted well, marked "L OKE" on the back. The somewhat erratic stitching makes me think maybe it's custom made. Any info would be appreciated.

Kinda hard to put a number on it. It was part of a multi-knife deal. I would say probably well under $100 though.

I think you came out far ahead on that deal then amigo! Great knife and great score. That sheath is certainly an aftermarket of some kind, but I don't know that maker.

Not sure about that sheath. But,I'm pretty sure Jerry Fisk designed the Magnum Camp for Camillus.

Earlier this week I bought the Spyderco Hossom Forester on sale for $136 with shipping. I went from no biggies to a Hossom and a Fisk in one week. The Hossom is a chopper and the Fisk is a slicer so they don't really duplicate each other. Looks like top notch samples of both styles.

Congrats! Since I finally scored a Brute last month, the MC is officially my new Grail Becker.

Congrats on your BK-5.
I love mine, though I've got the Kydex (or plastic, W/e) sheath. I really like the plastic sheath because I can insert the knife in any way I want: for left hand or right hand withdraw.

That's a nice looking knife - the rest of the Becker line might be functional but that one has style. I wish that I had one.

I've owned several Beckers over the years, from the Campanion to the Brute but this one is by far the best. When I saw it I assumed it would be very heavy but the blade is much thinner than the other Beckers and full flat ground with a bit of swedge. This just might be the perfect camp knife for butchering and food prep.

it's a great blade. i'm quite thankful to have an OLD one, and a safe queen, and a user. they're fairly unique.

fortunatley, they pop up on ebay all the time. not that rare, but people do grab them when they appear. act fast!

Jerry Fisk designed the Magnum Camp for Blackjack's Becker line.

Not sure if he ever saw his royalties from Mike Stewart on that one. :(

Camillus did pick up the model after the Becker line moved there.

Oooooh it definitely is.

I've had mine about ten years. You can butcher all day long with the Magnum Camp.

I love the design. It's like a hybrid of the Searles Bowie, a "roach belly" trade knife, and a BIG carving knife.

Great pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is one that is hoping that this is produced again!

I hope KaBar starts paying attention to their customers wishes and brings back the Magnum Camp. If they did I would be 1st in line to buy 3 of them. 1 to use and 2 for spares in case the 1st ever broke and I had to send it in under warranty. I just wish they would get on the ball and make it. They know the demand is there and the customers are there. Bring back the Magnum Camp and while your at it bring back the brute too.

They are listening to their customers, that's why they are not making them. The demand was low. Same with the Brute.

I've been bugging Jeff at RAT about getting together with Ethan on the models Kabar doesn't do anymore ;) Only good things can come out of a team of the two best rough use knife designers in the industry.
