I was looking for a smaller knife with large Backer capabilities. A small-ish all-round camping/backpacking blade with cool-looks that doesn’t raise alarms when it’s carried and used outdoors...but still strong so it can be used in a “survival-setting”. Basically when Mora is to small and BK7 to extreme. Yes i know that is knifenut talk about a holly grail.

I decided to start from what I have and chop down my Kabar BK7 about two inch. Its already a the knife I want but… to long. The blade the same size as the handle and a nice flowing spear point. The Camillus Crewman (higher saber grind then Kabar BK10) will be my inspiration. So I sarted out with a already modified BK7.

After a lot of regrinding- and handle projects this is my second BIG tip work project. I had some practice on Cold Steel's 1055. I started on the Becker a few weekends ago…The 1095CV is definitely a lot tougher and harder material to work with.

Still need to thin the tip, convex the edge, work on the swedge and some polish work. I will also make a kydex sheath for it.

Hell of a job! Congratulations on a job well done. That is a knife I would to my collection if it were in production. Great Job.

thanks guys for the compliments! it is a fun project with a nice result...but....the knife is yet half way there ;)

don't want to rain on your parade but...have you looked at the Ritter MK2 aka BK12? nice work, regardless.

BK12...nope never heard from it ;)
Great design that does fit the gap between BK7 and BK10 nicely, way to expansive (in Europe) if you ask me.

yeah, I guess it is so, I've seen the prices for popular knives on a Spanish website and was horrified. Then yours is a double win!

Yup a double win! Please don't get me started about knife prices over here ;) Especially imported ones. Recently I had a blade warranty-replaced by a large US knife manufacture, but I still had to pay 25 euro import fees + tax.

This are the prices of a good local store with relative well-priced Beckers: http://2sharp.nl/eshop?&lang=nl&showmode=

Thank you all. Updates will come when my hand is healed. Had a nasty accident with a drill.

Great job! Looks like you've got a real gift for grinding.
I not jumping on this with my smart ass :D I just take the compliment…tnx!

Nice, VERY nice......
Ethan

Wow that means a lot, coming from the master himself! Thank you. Feel free to put it in production :)
