BK7 -> BK10’ish modification project. FINISHED pics at #21

I finished this project including a sheath. Wanted to finish it earlier but I needed some time to heal my finger after I drilled a hole in it…btw by accident ;)

I decided to make a clip-point because the rounded spine / spear point wasn’t really appealing to me. Also the tip was much easier to thin whit a clipped point. Really like how it turned out. Nimble in the hand and a joy to cut with. Convex edge. Overall length is 11inch / 28cm. blade length 5 ½ inch / 14 cm.

Finished blade!!!

Compared custom Kabar BK7 & Camillus BK7

7 love!

Work in process: Saw cuts and rounding the tip section.

Very well thought out and executed modification. I like the reworked tip as well as the convex grind.

Yup a double win! Please don't get me started about knife prices over here ;) Especially imported ones. Recently I had a blade warranty-replaced by a large US knife manufacture, but I still had to pay 25 euro import fees + tax.

This are the prices of a good local store with relative well-priced Beckers: http://2sharp.nl/eshop?&lang=nl&showmode=

9- Euros for 100 feet of 550!? I pay $42 for 1000 feet... That is like 30 Euros...

Yup 95 Euro for 1000ft 550 is ridicules. Simple psychology in marketing applied in the knife/survival/gear market:
- don't you wanne pay the extra bucks when it comes down to saving your own life?!?!? - Whahahahahaaa

Off course the brand name, overseas production and small niche-market also play along. Still ridicules.
