BK7 Sheath

Well, I think SkyStorm and MWTIC have a really good run for their money if this is your first horizontal carry sheath, and especially if it's any indication of your other sheaths. Hell, you could make it tactical enough to replace kydex if you tried really hard and give Azwelke and GodSpeed a run for their money too!

I'm gonna have to keep an eye on your stuff.

I don't feel comfortable to start offering sheaths for sale yet. But, as I said in my original post, I am game to make one for a pass around. I just need some feedback on what sheath folks might be interested in.

No problem, I wasn't trying to push you, I just really really like that sheath! And Thrill is right, I think at least 90% of us have 2's, and Helga wouldn't mind trying on a pair of borrowed pants, but I don't know if I'll be able to sign up for a pass around until about mid-late summer so that I'm not moving around for a couple months, there is a chance I'll be working at two camps this summer, first three weeks down here in Florida and the rest up in Connecticut.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I was thinking that the BK 2 would be the choice for a pass around. So..........I will begin laying out a pattern tonite and start hacking up some leather. Like I said before, I like to push myself beyond what I have already done. Not sure which direction I'm going to go with this one but I will hopfully come up with something that looks and functions well.
All the best

BK4 would give you alot of room to get creative... And they were just re released so they're "trending" right now. God I just used the word "trending"... What's happening to me?

Novice, you say? There are "pros" that don't put that level of attention into their work. Very nicely done.

I'd be game for a BK7 pass-around.

And another thing, inexpensive? I've seen $100-150 sheaths that can't touch that. If I had a bk7 you'd have yourself a bidding war my friend.

Clich
He asked for inexpensive because he is a poor student going to forestry school. I remember well being a poor student with all my excess cash (after tuition and dorms and food) going to beer and a thousand varieties of pizza......and chasing girls (or was that beer, a thousand varieties of girls and then pizza). It was so long ago that my memory is foggy. So anyway, I agreed to make him a sheath for nothing. And, in keeping with my word, that's what he is getting.
I am drawing up a BK2 sheath as I speak. I am just short of the proper blood level of liquid inspiration.
Cheers

Very nice sheath man, Very clean lines nice stamping. Very nice man keep it up.

Very nice work man!

If I may offer inspiration. I find my bk2 often goes in and out of its sheath, so a pouch style would be well suited for the blade.

If ever you make another BK7 sheath, I would pay as much as I possibly could for one. Please stick around the Becker forum, we will shower you with praise and gifts in exchange for posts like this.

Haze......you make me laugh out loud. So, I am going to make a sheath for a pass around. As Thrillbilly said, the BK2 is probably owned by the highest number of folks. But, I can certainly do another BK7 sheath. I'm sure the second one would go much faster knowing all that I know now. Decisions decisions. As far as sticking around the Becker forum, I have always been here but I now have something to talk about that folks might actually be interested in. Probably I have well enough posts and pictures to become an official Beckerhead. I should look into that.

My next goal is to get a sheath out in the hands of folks in a pass around. I want to do this to get feedback from the field as to design and how it holds up in all kinds of conditions. I am not looking at selling at this time. But I do intend to reach that point. I just want to be sure that my designs and fabrications are good and not just eye candy. I am 20 months from retirering from the Air Force and do look forward to actually creating a little additional retirement income doing my leather work. If my pass around gets good reviews then I will upgrade my BF membership and start offering some for sale. If folks like my pass around then I think "word of mouth" will be my best advertisement. Thank you kindly for your interest. You will see me posting regularly and will know when I am ready to sell my first sheath.
All the best

how else does a sheath work? it would be a crappy sheath if it only went in...and not out ;)

but I have to say it again Bald, that is one beauty of a sheath...I want it around my bk7... like now!

and I'm all about a pass around as well!
