BK9 best my Kabar Kukri in chopping?

Listen to the Moose; he knows whereof he speaks. Small correction though, Moose. The BK-9 is Rc of 56-58. A little softer than Camillus made them, but a LOT tougher. That's still 4 Rc points harder than the machete's 52-54. But if we don't try to chop rocks, and use a synthetic stone instead of a cheap file to resharpen, the edge on KA-BAR's 1095CV will stay sharp a long time. I will wait patiently for the Patrol Machete; maybe I'll be able to afford it by the time it comes out.

If you start saving now you can probably afford a car by the time it comes out. Or possibly a flying pig.

Which Ontario were you inquiring about? the Marine Bowie Raider is also a chopping beast. I have both have not used the 9 much yet. The Raider is bowie style and I sharpened the back side of the blade on the tip so its almost like having to knives. Beat on stuff with the front and still have the back of the top portion of the blade sharp. BK9 seems more agile and manageable than the Bowie Raider by far.

that reminds me, KaBar gotta get more handles out :)
