BK9 Book of Eli sheath

Looks great, don't you stab yourself in the ribs frequently while resheathing? Are you planning to put some serious use on that or is this one of those "because I can" Ideas?

Good stuff MWTIC. Looks sweet.

Thanks guys!!!! :thumbup::thumbup:

ah very nice. I can see how a snap or something might be handy for safety reasons, but I LIKE!

Who needs safety when you have something that cool

j/k

If it does start getting loose (is that right DerekH?) I'll probably put something on there for retention.

Yes, very much right. Thank you. Everyone in the world thanks you.

Back to topic: That looks very cool, and very nicely done. I like the idea of some sort of retention strap, simply because you need to stay safe since you are going to have a ton more to make. It does however look very, very awesome. Congrats on a job very nicely done!

I guess the question for you is how does it feel? Does it ride nicely? Does it nest well with your shoulderblade? Do you think it would be as pleasant with a backpack, or is this more for those times when you are packless?

Cool I was worried about spelling that right for a bit. :D

It feels pretty good right now, I think it rides quite nicely. I really haven't noticed my shoulder blade hitting it or rubbing on the sheath. And as far as a bag pack, I have my Alice pack set up so the shoulder straps are pretty loose so I wouldn't think that it would be an issue with that pack, but other packs might bring up issues with wearing the sheath and a pack; depending on how tight you wear your pack.

Looking at these pics I see an awesome project in the works. I'm digging the sheath and all of you leatherwork. I know I have said in the past that I don't like leather that much, but your posts are starting to sway me. If you need any testing and feedback I am wiiling to lend a hand with that.:)

Thanks slapper!!

I'm starting to think that I might should have a contest to see who gets to have the sheath sent to them for some testing, and feed back to me. Hhmmm........

There's no doubt I'll enter that!:D

Also, I saw a guy showing his paracord lanyards somewhere else on here and Spark said(i'm paraphrasing) "send me one and i'll upgrade your membership so that you can sell them on here". I was thinking maybe you could make him something for the upgrade.....

I think someone could make a lot of money if they came out with a line of "concealed carry" rigs for large knives. There are many times when among others, you just don't want people to see it at all, because the question always comes, "can i see that". Buy i'm just thinking out loud here.

For me, designed for concealed carry or otherwise, I want all the options I can find to replace the BK9's sheath. I can see the design of this one being easily adapted from the strap system to a basic belt sheath that looks decent and is durable. For that matter, the basic design can be adapted to MOLLE attachments with the addition of a couple of snaps and straps.

All options make collecting and/or using big knives more enjoyable and more versatile. That includes leather and Kydex and Cordura as far as I'm concerned. The more the better. Keep those pictures coming!
