BK9 kydex liner mod question

For about $65 dollars I have a hard use knife that out performs a $500 well known brand. Most impressive design, great balance, sharp out of the box; a lot of bang for the buck. Question: the kydex liner is a bit of a loose fit. I understand that the fix is to remove the liner, heat it and form fit it to the blade. How best to remove the liner? Is it attached, glued etc? Also what temperature and length of time for heating the liner? Thanks in advance. Now all I need is a BK 10 and an Aftermath.

I had loose sheaths on both my BK7 & BK9, this is what I did to form fit the liners:

- Removed the liner by working loose the dab of glue on the front with a butter knife or the like.

- Form fitted the liner to the blade be heating with an iron on low heat with a damp rag between the iron and the liner, and then pressing the softened kydex to fit the blade tip, cooling it with the damp rag. Only the bottom 2 inches of the back side of the liner should be form fitted so that the sheath will look right when viewed from the front after the liner is reinstalled. The front of the liner should be laid on a flat surface while heating and forming.

- If the blade is too loose after forming, try forming the liner a little more with the blade out of the sheath.

- When you have the fit right, re-glue the liner to the sheath.
