BK9 kydex shoulder/baldric rig...Gen2, Complete!

Negative man, Dubz has the Murder Harness( pronounced "mudda ha-ness" by Ark). I am but a simple 5'10" man.

I knew that. I dunno why I was thinking u had it.

5'10''???? I dunno.....I would send u mine but it might be hard for u to bend down to ur knees to draw it. :)

Not the only thing I have to reach to my knees to draw out.

Man sure looks like your having fun playing with Kydex:D

I've seen pictures of GinghivitisKhans setup which is pretty similar in position... the belt clip is a good addition. I've been messing with baldric slings lately but I'm mostly making everything "tip-down" and yes there a little tricky to "balance". With the smaller knives I mount rings on both sides and on larger blades (Machetes) I take care of all of this on the rear.... this came to mind when I read oXides comment on the Patrol Machete... though I don't have one to make it for:o

Here's how I mount the smaller blades:

And on the larger blades, ESEE-Lite Machete:

The position of the sheaths in the photos is just for photographic reference... normally they'd be worn at about 10:00 (left side).

Of course my favorite complete setup is one of these with pouches mounted and even a smaller knife BK14, Izula etc.

But ofcourse with a BK9:

I really like the BK9 and it's actually the only thing bigger than a BK14 that I'd carry (by carry I mean use) so I appreciate your setup....btw I like your scales and you did a great job on them.

Thanks for sharing,

Eli

I'm sorry I didn' hear what you said.... I was staring at your poodle:eek:

Yeah but now you can remember that as part of your learning curve:thumbup:

Very interesting set up Clayton! gets me thinkin about about I project I'm finishing up now that I'm gonna debut at the gathering. Don't wanna tip my hand right now but I will say that murph already bought it. That figures doent it. And no I'm not talkin about the becker bayonet. I look forward to gettin together with you then.

I'm gonna tweak it some. I added more cobra braid to make the padded part of sling longer, and I'm gonna trim the top piece down some so it aint got the gap between it and sheath.

Thanks Todd...looking forward to seeing what all kinda sharp goodies you'll bring!

Where the heck do you find kydex sheets that long Godspeed?

That pic almost makes me want to resheath my BHK machete, instead of the goofy way they did it, which makes no sense to me.

I go through alot of it so a buddy of mine who owns a large "Plastics" company checked with a supplier and now I get it a 4'x8' sheet (just like plywood) I keep about four sheets in the shop and just trim off "manageable" pieces to work with.

Now you just made me sad Tanner...... I don't have a BK Machete.

I'm making them for all kinds of machetes though and right now I'm working on the BHK Machete.... the sheath that comes with them "looks" cool but I have yet to find somebody that's happy with it and one customer just sent me his to re-make.

Eli

U can order it from knifekits in 12''x24'' or 24''x24'' size Tanner....just add (2) or (4) as Quantity in your Cart

The idea behind the concept is counter intuitive. Sheath the blade while it is dirty! WHAT?

I "fixed" mine by hitting the top with the heat gun and pressing in. Now it has retention instead of rattling like a cow bell in a coffee can.

I'm thinking really hard about having you make me a BK9 dangler set up so I can add a piggyback later. There are other knives that need sheaths too...but thats my favorite knife and I want to go kydex on everything but my '2. Wasn't that into getting the 14 with handles, but that sheath GAW thread changed my mind....

I highly recommend that machete though...get one as soon as you can!
