thanks to a review a while back by Mistwalker I purchased a BK9. This blade rocks!!! Very good chooper, slicer and all around sweet knife. Mine came with a smaller BK-13 I believe it is, which sweetened the deal. As of now I have not used the smaller of the combo, but do plan to. For the price I am very impressed!!
here are a few pics; I will post more later

Good score, jctrapper. The BK-9 is a really nice knife, and I like the small BK-13, too.

Cool man, I bet that thing is fun to swing! Nice score. I need to break down and get one some day.

Edit: Just curious, how'd it feel to you compared to a small hatchet, as far as chopping ability?

IMO it felt really well, not very cumbersome, and the blade bit in to the wood well, if I had to choose hatchet or BK9 id say BK9 hands down!!

The only negative comments i would have for this combo are;

1. the BK13s grind is very sharp, (saber ground on purpose maybe, due to its small size)

2. must add loctite to bolts on handle. (I belive hat has been mentioned here before(

other than that ths combo rocks. I chopped and split (batonned) a fairly decent sized hickory tree for BBQ wood using only my BK9 and it perfromed flawlessly and had no sharpness or blade issues whatsoever.

i really wish yoou could purchase the BK-13 individually....... Great knives :thumbup:

The rumor is that the BK-13 will be offered for individual purchase after the Blade show. Supposedly, it will be made by Ka-Bar here in the US (it's made in China right now). This is just keying off of something Ethan said in an older thread, and I don't know when it might happen. When it does, though, I'm down for one.
