Howdy. I haven't posted much for a while. But I still like my nines. For their size, I haven't found anything that chops better. It is a great tool for the bush.

I have been posting on forums for many years. I had a big collection of pictures on Photobucket so I could illustrate my posts. As many will know, Photobucket suddenly decided to stop its free service as an image host. So heaps of my pictures will now not be visible on various sites around the 'net. It seems that Imgur might be a good alternative, so I have started to load photos on to their site. And this post is both an experiment to see how Imgur works.... and to keep in touch at the Becker Knife & Tool forum.

The knife is sitting on my pressure cooker. In the cooker is a brushtailed possum. I cook possums for maybe 40 minutes in the cooker, and then it is generally fairly easy to pull the meat off the bones.

Best wishes from NZ.... Coote.

The 9 is just a hell of a blade. It's my all time favorite knife. I feel the same way. It's a chopping machine, for it's size and weight. Not much I can't accomplish with the BK9.

I told Ethan by phone the other day, that the 9 was my fav, and he was going to have a hard time outdoing that one. He said he was going to keep trying though, haha. Gotta love it...

I would love to give ya a thumbs up on the possum but i promised my self to never eat another after a incident involving lightning storm and a dead cow.

Can't think of a better Knife for its size and weight that's more capable than the 9

Thanks Tanker for the pic I now have in my head and the stench that I can imagine  I would not want to eat Possum anyway but now you reassured me :D

Yee-hah ! Success. I can now embed photos. Thanks for the technical advice ! And thanks for all the comments.

Here's a photo of one of our possums. They are natives of Australia and have pest status in New Zealand. They are commonly seen as road-kill rather than a source of great food for pets and people. I really appreciate being able to hunt them.

My post stands about not eating Florida possums. But that brown possum might just be a different story. I'd give that a taste for sure. Hey C coote Do you have Armadillos we call them Possum on the half shell.

Is this the new face of th RE franchise after Milla Jovovich steps down?

Finally!!! My hunting partner had a 100 acre cattle farm that bordered a swamp in Leesburg FL. So on occasion we would grab our 22 pistols and walk the fence line checking for damage, rattle snakes, moccasins. And just general targets of opportunity. As Florida is known a fast strong thunder boomer had past over the night before. Out in the middle of his homestead we saw a cow down. Damn Jonny said lost one to the storm. Guess I gotta call the rendering plant. As I approached the cow I saw that it was moving. That steak aint dead yet Jonny I said. It's still moving!!! As we got closer I realized that sure nuff it was dead but the stomach was moving. Jonny walked up and kicked it in the belly and out its rotten ass ran about half dozen possums. They ate there way in to the intestines!!!! Thru its ass!!! I vowed right then to never eat another!!!

I've seen this before too, with a dead horse. Probably the most traumatic thing I had seen since I was just a kid then! I'll never forget that visual though!

I came to this thread under the guise of it being of Becker BK-9 porn. With anticipation of satiation I clicked - only to learn things of possums and dead cows that heretofore I was better of not knowing!
