BK9 Sheath Done

@ weaponeer
I never used to carry them this way either until I added an esse 4 to my edc routine. It has a more natural feel when drawing from that position.

Worked out better than I thought especially for me, I usually do not carry the 9 since I am all of like 5'6 and trying to vertical draw from a belt rig it leaves your fist in your armpit by the time you clear it. This works out way better, plus you got the crocodile dundee factor going on and who doesn't love that. Ok that and I love my 10 too much.

OK, let me make sure I am understanding this right, as this "scout" thing is new to me (even though I used to be a Boy Scout!)

So "scout" carry looks like the sheath is horizontal on the belt at the small of the back? And crossdraw would be horizontal on the hip opposite the strong hand with handle forward? Makes sense. It does seem to be a good way to carry a large blade without it hanging down your leg.

I must admit though, that in all my years of messing with knives, and in the Scouts, military, and many years of camping/backpacking, I have never seen anyone carry a knife like this. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention? Maybe it's only carried that way in certain regions of the country? Is this style of carry popular at all? If so, I'm afraid I have been out of touch.

Anyway, I love the sheath design. Now I have the hots for one for my BK-7.

Scout across my back is my favorite way to carry. Fits beneath the pack, doesn't knock on my thigh as I walk or get in the way of my pockets. The best way to carry IMO. I carry a bk10 and bk7 that way.

Heck of a rig

I'm another that hasn't used this carry method. Will give it a try.

Again, great work brother.

really nice work, as an aspiring(but still bad) leatherworker, this gives me inspiration to keep trying.
