BK9, shortening and drop point mod?

Ok.....I was just playin'. This is actually the start of the "Becker Gear Shifter." I couldn't resist posting them so I did. I actually feel like damaging some stuff when i hold it, so I was thinking about sharpening it. Sorry to get your hopes up Derek, but on the bright side Sheila is still the largest Becker handled Knife.

ok guys, got it...just leave it as it is....at least for the time being. thank you very much though for your opinions and ideas.
Don't get me wrong for being curious on these matters. Since I discovered blade forum I have modified EVERY single cheap knife I could find in my house, and a couple of expensive ones. Its not that I don't like the knife and I want to change it, but rather "enhance" it.
Great pics of the drop points btw!

Don't let us discourage you from modding your knife. If you have the skills then do it. We don't know how skilled you are so we err on the side of caution. If you grind it, Keep it cool. Let us know what you decide.

Hell, I have been encouraging it since I stepped in here. You really should do it.

Truth be told, I 'm not that certain that this would work. It is the loss of balance that I m afraid of, but if I do it, then its not going to be a chopper anymore right?
I was thinking of sawing the blade or even using some kind of file so as to avoid heat with the grinder or belt-sander. Then sand and smooth everything. If I do it, which I might after I get back from a week in the mountains at the end of June, I will take pics for you fine people.

The blade is hardened, just like your file or sawblade. So using these tools on the blade would remove as much material from the file/saw as from the blade.

I just ran across this pic,,,, "holy mother of all things blade holy!!"

All I want to know is why even ask if we want pics? OF COURSE we do!!

And mods are awesome. Do what makes you happy as long as its yours. I want to see it modded too!

Oh. And for the bk60...... A cut out for the second handles would be sweet so you didn't have to shorten the blade. Kinda like a sharpened hand guard.
