I've no idea why Schrade only produced it for six years.🤔
At 4.625 inches closed, it isn't "too big" for loose in the pocket carry.

Taylor Schrade and BTI Schrade have had the 858 in oroduction since 2004.
They even came out with a "OTB" version with real bone covers and upgraded blade steel ("440C equialent"), in addition to the standard version.
