One of my favorite knives arrived new last summer with black hardware, including clip and backspacer. A few months ago, I noticed that the clip and backspacer had turned a grayish blue color while the pivot and body screws remained black. There are a couple of YT vids out there on how you can easily "anodize" titanium black. I thought at least one of the YT guys was credible and since I had most of the gear, I decided to give it a shot. The two processes I saw in the vids were not exactly the same but they both used Manganese Sulfate in the electrolyte solution instead of TSP or backing soda. I didn't go into this with a lot of confidence but I'm very pleased with the result (so far). I've attached some very poor pics and note that the first one shows the clip "before" but the backspacer is already been blackened. With low expectations, I didn't get a true "before" photo.
